| The project uses an Arduino microcontroller to take readings from the ECU and any gauge you want to read and send them to my iPad using the arduino wifi shield. I've been dumping money into the project including a subscription with the Apple iOS developer program which lets me download and use the SDKs and have resources to forums, developers help and code examples. [ http://arduino-direct.com/sunshop/index.php ] I'm also working on a couple of other projects which are web based where you can control things using the Arduino and your iPhone through a website you put together using whats called a tiny web server run on the Arduino microcontroller with an SD card in whats called an Arduino ethernet shield. Here's some links to what you can do with the Arduino. It's pretty amazing, real cheap and real easy to work with. There are many open source projects and websites that support it and there are tons of really low cost sensors you can buy for your projects. Areally good page with lots of free code.

Here is a simple tach with the same principle as a CAS. Just input a signal straight from the CAS inputs to an ECU and adjust in software if needed for your tach display. Instead of an lcd readout you can send the reading to an ipad and software a gauge. An Arduino developement board has 16 different analog and digital inputs. You can monitor the inovate LC1 digital stream or anything else you can think of.

It all started when I got this damn iPhone, lol. Here is a cool heads up display app. It has lots of things you can do with it. In HUD mode you can place it under your windshield and have it reflect on your window.
In heads up mode everything is reversed.
